Case studies
Real work first, practice work labeled
The first group is paid professional work. The second group is simulated projects and labs on Riverside Health, a fictional hospital. They are designs or drafts, and their badges say so.
Professional experience
From my jobs
Each case study follows the same parts: the problem, the environment, my role and process, proof of work, constraints, the outcome and what I learned. Nothing from an employer's systems is published: no device names, users, case records or screenshots.
Simulated projects and labs
Riverside Health, a fictional hospital
These are designs for work I will perform myself. None of the labs has been built yet, and none of this describes NYU Langone Health or any real employer. A card moves to IMPLEMENTED / TESTED / VERIFIED only after I build and test the work and capture the evidence.
How to read the labels
Five categories
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE | Paid work I did for an employer. |
| RECONSTRUCTED PROFESSIONAL ARTIFACT | A work document rebuilt from my professional experience with fictional data. Not an original employer document. |
| ACADEMIC PROJECT | Coursework and capstones. |
| SIMULATED PROFESSIONAL PROJECT | Risk, identity, incident and design work set in Riverside Health, a fictional hospital. |
| HANDS-ON LAB | Work I build or perform myself outside employment and coursework, including independent builds such as Bayou Alert. |
